College Counselling
Hello, and welcome to the page for College Counseling at Trinity! My name is Jessica Iseman, and I’m the Director of College Placement. My chief responsibility in this regard is getting you the information you need to help your student(s) and family find the right college or university for you. This process is multifaceted and includes regularly published bulletins concerning the latest goings-on on the college front, events like College Night that feature presentations on all aspects of the application process straight from the mouths of admissions officers, frequent meetings with students and parents to identify prospective majors and schools, and assistance with all portions of the college application process.
One of my favorite aspects of my job is leading group tours to colleges and universities and hosting visits from admissions officers to our campus. The quality of our programs and our 100% acceptance rate into four-year institutions draws colleges ranging from top-ranked institutions like Harvard, Vanderbilt, and Columbia, to flagship state universities like the University of South Carolina, Clemson University, and the University of Georgia, to liberal arts colleges like the University of the South, Rhodes College, and Furman University.
At Trinity Collegiate, students are not just names on my files, but individuals whom I know and care about. Most students will have taken at least one of my social studies classes by their senior year, so I’m in a unique position to advocate for each student based on first-hand knowledge of who they are as a person. Our small enrollment means that TCS students and families receive personalized guidance and help from me. I can always be found talking to students about their plans, assisting them in making a college list, helping them brainstorm and revise college essays, and pointing them toward scholarships to make earning a degree more affordable.
